Annotation

Syndicate is a corporation named Ortus, which deals with pharmaceutics, building and transportation, media and show business. But behind its official economic activity there is a structure concealed, whose aim is to monopolize the manufacturing of cheap synthetic drugs as well as to capture such market in.

The law machinery reveals the activity of illegal syndicate-octopus and introduces two agents into its structure.

Every agent has his own mission. They disappear for the outside world: they change their names, wipe their biographies off, and renounce people, whom they take care of. The agents are not aware of each other; they get in touch with the Center and outside world through the Curator. Ilya Shakunov – “Odissey” and Igor Lifanov – “Gin” perform agents’ parts.

«We are trying to stay away from topicality, but at some point of conception we get back to the critical problems of the present, which enclose the attempts of some economic structures to capture either commercial or ideological market”, - said Dmitry Svetozarov, the art director of the project. 

“Odissey” comes to Syndicate first of all because his will is to ruin this structure on the inside.

“Gin” is exposed and as he thinks, the reason of this reveal is the second agent. From this moment he declares war to “Odissey”. This duel becomes the center of the plot. As per the words by Alexey Lebedev – producer of the project – “Odissey” and “Gin” – are two main sides of Super agent, the one is intellectual embodiment and another is physical strength.

According to the rules of genre, Super agent should get into love story and a love triangle starts in Syndicate. Mila (Yevgenia Igumnova) – “Odessey’s” sweetheart – does not believe in his “official” death and sets out in search of him. Meanwhile Syndicate authorities bring together Odissey and Olga (Tatyana Kolganova). The aim is to catch the agent in a double game. But their formal affair develops into the true love.

Conception. Stylistic solution 

In this project the experts from St.Petersburg take into accountHollywoodstandards, trying to match with the worlds, created by “Matrix”, ‘Secret files”, and films by John Woo. 

“As for the visual stylistics Syndicate will resemble the multilevel computer game. There is a dynamic topic, trick effects, the tricks taking breath away in the foreground”, - said Andrey Siegle – producer and film composer of the project.

To reveal one of the secrets of cinematographic process, we can say that agents will fight with Syndicate in the terms of false scene, only the furniture parts stay real. The rest of space including interior details and life behind the window will be designed with the help of computer by the specialists from Begemot studio (“Favorsky”, “The Boar”, “Master and Margarita”). Shootings of “Syndicate” imply a “movie” large scale – more than 100 characters will be engaged.

“We have never made series like soap, - said Andrey Siegle and Dmitry Svetozarov, who have been friends for years, who made a hundred of joint series and also started ACDC film studio, - we always make valuable feature films”.

Music

Andrey Siegle – a film composer – will work at creation of sound track for “Syndicate”. He also composed for the serials, made in “action” genre, which became popular for millions of TV audience: “The streets of broken lamps”, “The national security agent”, “Named Baron”.
