Ironical comedy

This spiritual film of the 80’s is the best screen version today of the famous phantasmagoria of Mikhail Bulgakov. The story tells how Professor Preobrazhenskiy creates a genetic monstrosity – Sharikov, the «Head Cleaner» – from Sharik - an attractive stray dog that he finds.

Professor Preobrazhenskiy, Polygraph Polygraphovitch Sharikov, Shvonder, Doctor Bormental … It seemed impossible to make a screen version from this novel by a genius author Mikhail Bulgakov. However, the bold attempt of the creators turned into a tremendous success.
