The 80’s in the USSR - a period of stagnation. Alexey, a graduate of drama school, goes abroad and does not return, saying nothing to Olga who loved him but married his friend, reporter Andrey. Sixteen years later Alexey returns and learns that Andrey has died, Olga is in a psychiatric clinic, and his father, a Party member in his past, a teacher of Marxism-Leninism, has become a significant businessman, and a capitalist who has used the death of Andrey for his own benefit. Unexpected events will help Alexey to recognize the destiny of his friends, but it will become much more difficult to understand his own soul…
