Hard timeRussia, 1996 Sasha Antipov Production 16 mm, 60 min. Erotic comedy
The film plot begins with film director Serghey Mikhailovich (Alexey Serebryakov) shooting a «high-browed» art movie using mobsters’ money. The resulting masterpiece then wins four filmfest prizes, but fails to return money to the «investors». The gangsters’ response comes immediately by taking Serghey Mikhailovich by the collar and dragging him to a tiny apartment with a cameraman cleared for action. The bandits explain to Serghey that henceforth he is going to work out his debt by shooting hard porno «a la rus» – on the theme of a landlord flogging and «employing» his serf maids in the hayloft. No lack of actors are expected - the gang has enough «debtors» to staff a long series of porno productions. They begin with a businessman with fresh iron burns on his back being delivered to play the landlord. However, the performer proves incapable of «performing his role». As a substitute, the «producers» then bring round an honoured artist of the Buryat Opera. Then come some Moldavian long-range truck drivers who have lost their trailer along with their delivery of fruit, some prostitutes, an ageing porno star… Each happening to be a criminals’ debtor in his or her own way…
*** "…a movie in which true life borders with obscenity. Like the scandalous show «About That», this film reflects today’s life. The bandits who lost their money in a serious film project seek the indemnity by forcing the film director and the entire production unit to shoot Russian blue movies for export. The features of such a movie are incredible funny".
