ASDS Film Studio, Ltd. was founded in 2002 on the initiative of the renowned St.-Petersburg cinematographic duo – composer Andrey Sigle and director Dmitry Svetozarov. ASDS Studio engages in various cinema-, TV-, and musical projects for the leading TV channels of Russia. The name, «ASDS», is the initials of the studio’s originators and producers, Andrey Sigle and Dmitry Svetozarov. They managed to gather and retain a unique creative team of talented cinema professionals and top-class specialists of Lenfilm brand. Svetozarov/Sigle’s team includes both experienced masters with a name and young representatives of cinematographic professions. ASDS’s camera crew is one of the best in St.-Petersburg. Effective production technologies made it possible for ASDS Studio, already in its first two years of existence, to launch three TV series differing in genre, volume, and setting and production scale. The first project for ASDS was «The Dancer» (2003, a 6-part series) having its premiere on Channel 1 on July 5, 2003. It is the only Russian TV series shot in the «virtual detective story» genre. «The Dancer» was a debut for Andrey Makarevich as general producer. The studio’s development momentum is enough shown in that in 2003 ASDS finished a 12-part melodrama «Three Colours of Love» (Channel «Russia»), a complex-set project with the action spanning three decades; in 2004, 9 parts of the series «Opers: Chronicles of a Homicide Department» were shot; also in 2004, a 10-part «Favorsky», a film based on A. Dumas’s novel «Count Monte-Cristo», was made for NTV Channel. At present, the studio is working on an 8-part mystical thriller «The Boar». ASDS filming company is ever open for co-operation. Since year 2004 up to the year 2007 film studio has produced following serials: «Favorsky», «Syndicate» (for the NTV channel), «The boar» (for the First TV channel). In the year 2007 was shot feature film of Alexander Hvan “Guide”.
